After proving himself in the ’90s as a talent to watch while writing for DC Comics and the UK comic 2000AD, his arrival to Marvel came at a time when Ultimate Spider-Man had just shot up the sales charts. The plot follows an aging Logan in a distant post-apocalyptic future. Along with Brian Michael Bendis, Mark Millar has been one of the key writers for Marvel Comics in the 21st century. ![]() The Marvel Comics saga was published in June 2008 and ran through September 2009, spread across the paces of Wolverine #66 through #72, along with Wolverine Giant-Size Old Man Logan. Written by Mark Millar with art from Steve McNiven, the Old Man Logan arc is infamous for its extreme action. It is further stated that director James Mangold and his team have long wanted to bring Hugh Jackman's Logan saga to a very violent and gory end, which falls inline with what plays out in the Old Man Logan comics. Now, multiple sources close to the production claim that Wolverine 3 has been targeting an R rating long before Deadpool's stunning success at the box office. Many fans have longed to see an R rated Wolverine as portrayed by Hugh Jackman, and they nearly got their wish with the 2013 sequel The Wolverine, which did arrive on the home market in an unrated director's cut. ![]()
